Good News: The Gospel

The modern-day news can be filled with depressing subjects that are magnified by sensationalism to further ramp up their message.  The listener can be left with feelings of hopelessness and despair.

If we look for the news behind the news, we find nothing less than absolute good news!  The word “gospel” originates from the meaning of the New Testament Greek word evangelion, meaning “good news.” In the gospels of the Bible, there are many examples of Jesus Christ teaching the disciples as well as the multitudes about the gospel of the kingdom of God.  Christ’s kingdom will include the whole world, and He will teach everyone the way of love toward his fellow men and women.  What better good news can an individual look forward to, lean on, read about, and trust in than the words of the gospel of the kingdom of God?  Read your Bible, and draw encouragement from it.
